Indie developer Kyodai has announced a new science fiction first person exploration game, Project Elea, which the studio promises will explore ”humanity’s place in the universe, the nature of intelligence and the meaning of faith.”
The player takes on the role of Voyager 1231 River Elea Catherine Jones, or Elea for short. She was in suspended animation on a spaceship, and shortly after regaining consciousness, she finds herself trapped in her own cabin. She then discovers that the ship’s AI, Kazumi, is mysteriously offline and has been abandoned.
The rest of the game is exploring the Pilgrimage II, the ship Elea is stranded on. The vessel is a colony ship headed to a class M planet called Solace. Its other mission is to discover what happened to the Pilgrimage I, which myseriously vanished 15 years ago. It’s not long before Elea finds another intelligence trying to take over the ship, as she tries to restore Kazumi’s memory.
