While not solely a PlayStation 4 game, Street Fighter V decided to use last week's PlayStation Experience event to re-introduce Akuma to the popular brawler.
Though focusing on being more of a tease than a gameplay trailer, it hasn't taken long for some real footage to pop up. But you'll have to head over to GameInformer to watch it. They don't allow embeds.
Going heavy on the oriental-styled techno dubstep, the latest trailer serves as a way to introduce the character to anyone who might not be familiar with his Street Fighter roots. The lion-looking demon first appeared in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a boss character with origins tied to Ken and Ryu. Since then he's been a staple character only absent in the latest game - until now.
What did we think of Street Fighter V? There wasn't much single-player content at the time, but the rest was 'Excellent'.
Highlighted throughout the video is Akuma's varied move-pool. Specialising on fast strikes and powerful counters, he suffers from a lower-than-average health pool but makes up for it with his dangerous combat skills. Dragon Kick makes a triumphant return, and he'll apparently be pretty handy with quick-fire punishments for simple mistakes.
There's 5 new characters yet to be revealed for the title, but the return of Akuma should settle the fans somewhat.
