The 1.3 patch for Rainbow Six Siege is coming out less than a week after the 1.2 update. Ubisoft is taking off the kid gloves, as the major feature of the patch is that first time cheating offenders will no longer get a temporary 3 day ban; they will be perma-banned right off the bat.
Ubisoft also noted they’ll be tackling players who choose to exploit maps. The publisher says the patch has ”added a configuration that allows us to turn ON an insta-kill configuration for Defenders that go outside their zone during the preparation phase (this behavior should not be possible, but if exploits are found, the guilty shall be punished by a swift death!)”
The update has also fixed a bug that is related to the exploit, which allowed players to exit their zone during the preparation phase. Apparently, during the prep phase players found a way to go through walls by transitioning from a prone to standing position while putting up a barricade.
Another gameplay complaint of people rage-quitting ranked matches has also been addressed in the update. Players leaving a Ranked match by pressing F10 or by hitting ALT-F4 will now be receiving reconnect and abandon messages. In addition, if the game itself was closed by pressing [x] or ALT+F4, the players will not be leaving all sessions anymore.
