For those who have not experienced the thrills of being El Presidente, Kalypso Media has announced Tropico 5 Complete Collection, which will include all of the expansions and downloadable content ever released for the Banana Republic political simulator where you take on the role of a dictator ruling a small Caribbean nation. It will be released on 29th January, 2016.
Tropico takes the player through several eras of history, from the 19th century to present, as they must decide how to deal with the nation’s populace. Will they be a cold, ruthless tyrant who controls the people with an iron fist, a benevolent charmer who gives his people unlimited freedoms, or something in between? Will you make the island a vibrant tourist trap or an industrial nightmare? They must also deal with the world superpowers as well, becoming an ally of the United States, a puppet of the Soviet Union, or some other arrangement.
The content that will be included with Tropico 5 Complete Collection includes the Espionage and Waterborne expansions, as well as the following DLC packs: The Big Cheese, Mad World, Generalissimo, Joint Venture, Surf’s Up, Gone Green, Supervillian, Inquisition, Super Computer and T-Day. It will be available both digitally and as a special retail boxed edition.
Tropico 5 was first released back on 14th May, 2014, and earned an 8.0/10 score in GameWatcher’s review. Reviewer Nick Horth assessed it as ”a very good city management and political strategy game that’s got a relaxed attitude quite unlike anything else out there.”
