When the press release that revealed a game based on the upcoming Hunstman movie came in, the eye-roll I did was practically audible. Imagine my surprise when it turned out that this game looks kinda neat!
You play as Elisabeth as she attempts to track down her long lost brothers through a choose-your-own-adventure style story progression. She’ll eventually be joined by a mysterious man with magical powers named Marcus, and a cast of humans, dwarves, and supernatural creatures will rotate into the third character slot.

Combat uses collectable equipment cards which are randomly drawn at the start of the fight, providing different options in the active battle system. And man, that art looks real neat. In motion it looks perhaps a little too much like Flash animation, but the style isn’t quite like anything else I’ve seen.
The game will release in episodes, the first of which will be available for free on April 20.
