The Metronomicon is an upcoming RPG that blends role-playing combat with rhythm action. A recent developer diary got us some more details on what the unique blend of genres would entail.
Your party will consist of four characters fitting into more or less typical RPG archetypes, like fighters, rogues, and healers. Each character has their own unique abilities that are activated, obviously, by dancing. If you want your cleric to heal the party, then you’ve got to run through a DDR-style rhythm performance to make it happen.

Switching back and forth to different characters with different dance routines is actually pretty reminiscent of Amplitude’s multiple note lanes, and the success of other rhythm-meets-RPG titles like Crypt of the Necrodancer means that this has the potential to be pretty cool. It should be available on Steam later this year.
