FIFA 17 is shaping up to bring a slew of new and exciting features to the premier football sim and the latest reveal could put any player in the running for a prize of over $1 million. Better study and get your game on lockdown if you’re going to achieve in FUT Champions and the Ultimate Team Championship series.
FUT Champions is the new online mode featured in FIFA 17. This comprehensive new mode features several tiers that lead to eventually improving your spot in local, regional, and global leaderboards. The new mode starts in Daily Knockout competitions that can be tackled at any point during the week. If you carve out some wins in the Daily Knockouts, you can qualify for the Weekend Leagues, where winning can rank you up in tiers running from Bronze at the bottom and running all the way up to the cream of the crop: The Top 100 tier.
The most notable news coming of this feature is that EA will be running a new competition in the fall that will take advantage of the new mode. The Ultimate Team Championship series will separate the best from the rest in a road that will lead to a grand prize of about $1.3 million. This is the largest esports prize EA has ever offered and any FIFA 17 player can qualify as long as they take part in the FUT Champions feature.
FIFA 17 is featuring quite a few new features, gameplay balances, and updates with improvements on the Frostbite engine having been revealed. Xbox One players will get first crack at the game on September 22. North America will see release on every platform on September 27 and the game will go worldwide on September 29.
