It’s been a long time since games bearing the “tycoon” title lined every PC section at the local store, and just as long since we’ve had a decent option for building digital theme parks. Now a new title called Planet Coasters is picking up where RollerCoaster Tycoon left off, and it’s looking toward a final release on November 17.
Planet Coaster will let you build and manage a coaster park, creating your rides with piece-by-piece construction tools and a full loadout of terrain alteration and deformation tools. You’ll have to keep up with what your guests want and follow their feedback on your path to a coaster empire.
We’ve got your tactical needs covered with our list of the best strategy games on PC!
In-game sharing options will let you upload your creations for the world at large, or download the most popular parks and rides from other players.
Planet Coaster comes from Frontier Developments, who are not only the folks behind Elite: Dangerous, but RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and other Tycoon-style titles released sporadically over the past decade-plus. I look forward to seeing how the game turns out this November.
