Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive’s upcoming top-down RPG Tyranny has shown off some of its gameplay in a new 100-minute video. The RPG is set in a world where the evil bad guy has already won. The game is set to launch in November with three different editions on sale each containing various added content.
The video shows the overworld map which is clearly inspired by boardgame influences as well as exploration and combat. The leveling and loot systems appear to be fairly traditional which will allow players of the genre to jump right into the action. Choices and consequences are something that the game seems to stand on with players able to take matters into their own hands, deciding on what events take place in the world around them.
The overall aesthetic of the game looks promising with a clear Baldurs gate vibe to the overall experience. Tyranny could prove to be an interesting game with a unique story and setting.
