GameStop, the retail giant with over six thousand stores across the world, have announced that they will be publishing their own games under the label named GameTrust.
This isn’t the first time GameStop have dabbled with publishing. Back in January, Insomniac revealed their new game (Song of the Deep) was going to be published by GameStop. A month later, GameStop teamed up with Bandai Namco to publish Slashy Souls, an iOS/Android game. When a game is published through the GameTrust label, the retail copies of the games are sold exclusively from GameStop stores. If you would prefer not to purchase your games at GameStop, you can always purchase the game digitally instead.
Now GameStop have given their publishing label a name and have announced several independent developers that they’ll be working with. The developers are: Insomniac Games, creators of the Ratchet & Clank series; Ready At Dawn, the team behind The Order 1886; Tequila Works, makers of Deadlight and Rime; and Frozenbyte, the developers behind the Trine series.
GameStop claims to announce more developers and games for their GameTrust brand at a later date.
