Paragon is shaping up to deliver Epic’s personal flair to the world of MOBAs with it’s third-person team-based combat. The project that was once mysterious is now taking the spotlight and being showcased in full. Today we got a new trailer and in that trailer, we saw four new playable heroes that were not introduced in the lengthy reveal of the game.
The four new characters featured are Gadget, Feng Mao, Kallari, and Rampage. Much like the initial character reveals, each of these characters seem to fill a niche. Gadget has, well, gadgets that she can deploy to do area of effect damage. Feng Mao features an agile upfront melee assault with his spear. Kallari is assassin that excels in picking heavy damage from sneak attacks and picking off weakened heroes. Finally, Rampage is a brute that can damage heroes at distance by hurling rocks at them or get close and personal as a damage-sponging tank.
What’s even great is that where we had to wait a substantial amount of time to see anything regarding the initially revealed characters in the actual game, we get to see these four fellows in action right away. As news continues to drop regarding Paragon, it seems less like a shooter and more like a MOBA with a few gun toting characters so far. Clearly, that is probably how Epic wants to push it as well, considering they released a tutorial video last month that pretty much explained the rules of most MOBAs to players.
Paragon is slated for release on PC sometime in early 2016 and Beta is coming soon. Players can sign up to participate at the official website. It is unknown at this time if these four characters will make it into the Beta.
