Streum On Studio has released new screenshots for its upcoming first person shooter Space Hulk: Deathwing. As the title implies, it’s based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe; “space hulk” is the term given to a spaceship wreck floating freely around space.
In the game, players take on the role of a Librarian, a psychic soldier in the Imperium of Man, accompanied by a Terminator squad; the squad is the gameplay justification for online co-op. The Librarian and his squad are tasked with exploring gigantic space hulks, ”fending off Genestealer advances and recovering ancient relics.”
Space Hulk: Deathwing will include a full single player campaign, and will be faithful to the Space Hulk board game. It will include staples from the original game including such weapons as the Storm Bolter, the Assault Cannon, Lightning Claws, and Thunder Hammer. ”Wielding these relics of war you will fight through the cargo bays of the Adeptus Mechanicus, ancient chapels of a Black Templar warship, and the gigantic engine rooms of derelict ships.”
