Infinite Warfare takes Call of Duty to space and some folks are really unhappy about that. But I’m going to let you in on a secret: space is really cool. The shooter juggernaut needs its formula shaken up and a change of setting could be just what the doctor ordered. Two new gameplay videos are out show off what the campaign looks like.
The first is a fourteen minute demo of the game’s first mission. As you’d expect from the first level of a Call of Duty campaign, it’s mostly a spectacular shooting gallery, but there are enough glimpses of fresh tactics and technology to have me interested. A spider-like drone grenade will seek out enemies around corners, a hacking module lets you destroy an airship from the inside, and the whole thing ends in a massive battle over Earth’s atmosphere.
Will Infinite Warfare make your list this year? Or will something else on our list of upcoming PC games catch your attention?
It’s all a fun roller coaster of explosions and violence, but the second video shows off some elements that really caught my attention. You’ll have a home base aboard the UNSA Retribution, where you can prep for and deploy on main missions, or take on side objectives for additional resources and upgrades.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to release on November 4 for consoles and PC.
