The first Divinity: Original Sin caused a most excellent stir when it released in 2014, and its sequel managed to gather over $2 million on Kickstarter late last year. Now we’ve got the chance to see exactly what that follow-up will look like, as an early portion of the game will be hitting Early Access in just a few weeks.
Original Sin 2 builds on the original game, featuring four-person multiplayer, new combat mechanics, and questing both cooperative and competitive. The Gods are dead, and you wield forbidden magic, having been quarantined in a prison colony while the Divine Order seeks to “cure” your powers.

As with the original, the reactive and adaptive story builds itself around the actions of the player, strongly inspired by the world of tabletop gaming. Players will have to choose between their goals and the needs of the party as they choose what quests to pursue and and how to explore the world.
The Early Access release on September 15 will feature the opening portion of the campaign and an online PvP arena.
