One of my great gaming regrets is not having had the time to play the original Banner Saga. It was unique, beautiful, and by most accounts a solid strategy game. Maybe I’ll take the plunge this time around, because the Banner Saga 2 is just around the corner.
The developers announced today that the sequel would be launching April 19 for Mac and PC, and it’s now available for pre-order on Steam. The final price will be $19.99, but you can currently get it at a pre-purchase discount of $17.99.
The Banner Saga 2 picks up where the first game left off, featuring new characters dealing with the consequence of the choices made in the first game, which carry over here. The developers are promising improved combat with greater strategic depth while continuing to deliver the narrative that made the first game memorable.
