If you haven’t heard of EVERSPACE before, I’d recommend checking out their Kickstarter page. EVERSPACE is a rougelike space shooter, a combination of games that we’ve never seen put together before. Today ROCKFISH Games have announced a closed alpha for EVERSPACE that will be playable on April 29th.
Earning over €420,000 from over ten thousand people, this closed alpha is sure to excite more than a few of those backers. Not only did ROCKFISH Games reach their goal, they also hold the record for being the most funded German developers of any game on Kickstarter.
EVERSPACE is a single player rogue-like space shooter from the creators of the Galaxy on Fire series. The game boasts AAA-style visuals and sound, whilst enabling players to experience the game in either first or third person.
The goal is straightforward: reach your destination unscathed. However, in practice, this will prove challenging, thanks to various obstacles and changes to your planned route. Each run promises new situations and unveils more of the vast universe, as it constantly alters. EVERSPACE is set to test players’ improvisational skills and reactions with its fast-paced gameplay and unpredictable situations: the only way that you can survive is by adapting. Will you stealthily sneak past enemies in a cloaked ship or will you depend on your lightning-fast aim? You may have to change tactics in order to succeed.
In addition to annihilating enemies, players will also need to gather resources to repair equipment and have the opportunity to hunt down traders for rarer supplies. You will also be encouraged to explore whatever lies on the horizon, whether it’s an old ship wreck or a mysterious worm hole.
If you like the sound of EVERSPACE but you missed out on funding the Kickstarter campaign, you can still contribute towards the game. Just go to the EVERSPACE website to get exclusive Alpha/Beta access.
