Through the wonders of a month long GameJam, Ninja Theory will soon release a beautiful on-rails shooter by the name of DEXED for the HTC Vive.
With a fun play on words, the company behind DMC: Devil May Cry and Heavenly Sword have pieced together a neon blaster requiring the 'full twohanded DEXterity' not available on other VR platforms until Oculus finally decide to release its Touch controller - thanks to the Vive's 1:1 tracking wands.
Lead Designer Benoit Macon states how they wanted to "create a game inspired by the old Panzer Dragoon series', the team saw enough promise in DEXED to commit to 2 more months of development time allowing them to update and refresh the artwork seen in the GameJam demo while bringing the total number of levels to 5 for the final release.
While it certainly isn't going to be the lengthiest experience after such a short development window, there's no denying Ninja Theory's quick little side-project isn't a feast for the eyes. The development diary below shows off its expansive vistas while delving deepier into how they incorporated certain technology to aid in the rapid completion of the title.
