Dontnod, the developers behind the flawed but fascinating Remember Me and last year’s surprise hit Life is Strange, released screens today of their new action-RPG Vampyr.
The game is set in a 1918 London where a Spanish flu outbreak has decimated the population. Details on gameplay are scarce so far, but it sounds like you’ll be cast as a titular Vampyr, choosing who to hunt and how to hunt them in the London streets. Dead NPCs will be gone for good, though, so you’ll have to be cautious in choosing your prey.
The action-RPG blends its characters, conversations, and hunting mechanics with a melee-focused real time combat system. You’ll use supernatural powers and a variety of weapons crafted from scavenged parts to defeat your foes. The release is planned for PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2017.
