Microsoft’s PC gaming initiatives have offered mixed results over the years, but their latest push seems to have more strength behind it than ever before. This fall’s releases will prove exactly how serious those plans are, and among the titles that will prove it, one way or the other, is Forza Horizon 3.
We’re a month away from Forza Horizon 3’s release date, and the title has just gone gold, meaning that the code is final and discs are ready to print. PC and Xbox One players will be able to enjoy cross-platform play with each other, and digital purchasers of either version will enable access to both through Xbox Play Anywhere.
The recommended system specifications for PC were also revealed today:
- CPU: i7 3820 @ 3.6GHz
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 or NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD R9 290X or AMD RX 480
- VRAM: 4GB
- RAM: 12GB
- Storage: 55GB
- Resolution: 1920 x 1080
- OS: Windows Anniversary Edition 64-bit 14393.101
Hefty recommendations, and those are built around play at 1080 resolution, rather than the supported 4K options. The Windows 10 and DirectX 12 requirements will also be disappointing for many.
Forza Horizon 3 will release for PC and Xbox One on September 27.
