I’m so very happy that April Fools’ Day has stopped being that time of the year when people lie to each other on the internet, and has instead become a day of laughable larks and goofy good times. To that end, Guild Wars 2 is bringing the Spring frivolity a day early with a new update.
Super Adventure Box was a popular event back in 2013, and three years later, it has returned in the form of Super Adventure Festival. According to the press release, players will be able to hop into ”two retro-style worlds full of monsters, happy clouds, jumping puzzles and SICK 8-bit GRAPHICS.” (Since it’s in 3D, it actually looks more voxel-based than 8-bit, but I get what they’re saying.)
The event will last two weeks and is planned to return annually. You can expect lots of new weapon skins and decorations for your trouble, and it seems that Heart of Thorns players will be able to build platformer levels in their guild halls.
