Capcom have revealed Street Fighter 5’s latest character, Ibuki. Returning from the greatest fighting game of all time, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Ibuki brings with her a very unique fighting style in the form of ninjutsu. Unlike previous games she has featured in, this time Ibuki seems to be more a character out of an anime game. With five ninja bombs at her disposal, Ibuki can use her new tools to create unpredictable mix-ups and to even extend combos.
Ibuki’s release also comes with a brand new stage: Estate at Noon. Street Fighter 5 players will instantly recognise the stage as being a daylight version of Kanzuki Estate (Karin’s stage). While this isn’t exactly a ‘brand new’ stage, it is a slight variation which we are sure will cost you some form of money.
Unfortunately, Ibuki will not be released this month. Capcom originally promised to release six characters each month after Street Fighter 5’s launch. Alex (the first DLC character) did launch in March, but Capcom left it until the last week to unveil any information about him. Capcom also have failed to put up the game’s store, meaning players can download any of the DLC characters for free while the store remains unavailable.
Ibuki will be arriving sometime in June along with the Story mode DLC. There are rumours that the DLC should be shown off again during Sony’s E3 press conference, so stay tuned for any updates relating to Street Fighter 5.
