Unreal Engine 4 is already paying dividends with indie developers producing some unique, gorgeous new games. One such title is Echo, the first game from Danish studio Ultra Ultra. It’s a stealth action title with a striking look and a load of unique gameplay ideas.
You take control of En after a century in stasis. You’re inside a vast and mysterious palace which studies your every move and uses it against you. The titular Echoes are exact copies of you, and they emulate the actions you take. Using guns will cause them to use guns. Sneaking everywhere will make them get stealthier.

Every few minutes, the palace “reboots,” resulting in a temporary blackout and an update to the Echo AI, informing them of your latest tactics and causing them to emulate those strategies. The strategies of the enemies will constantly be cycling with your own, meaning a constant race to stay a step ahead with your tactics.
It’s a fascinating concept, and the game certainly has a striking look. We look forward to seeing how this one shapes up.
