After coming across a little like a rush job in 2015, EA promises the sequel to their version of Star Wars: Battlefront will be considerably larger in scale.
Likely thrown out to coincide with the hype around J.J. Abram's debut Star Wars flick 'The Force Awakens', the momentum and trust is already there, meaning the next Battlefront doesn't necessarily need to release around the same time - but it likely still will.
Still on-track to release later this year - much like another Star Wars movie - EA has grander plans for their second attempt, meaning a single-player campaign will be part of the title this time around. Likely encouraged by the strong reception of the campaigns in both of their AAA shooters of last year - Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2.

Development is now in overdrive as the team once left in charge of putting out DLC and add-ons to the 2015 release have now been moved over to the upcoming sequel. Likewise, EA has opted for a large pool of developers to work on this one, with more of the DICE crew being joined by Criterion after their work on the game's recent VR addition. Motive - EA's new Montreal studio - will also play a vital role.
Rather than stick to the events of the newer movies, EA says this one will take place across "multiple Star Wars eras". So it isn't just a companion piece to the movie this time.
