With all the Assassin's Creed rumors floating around so close to E3, it's only natural to assume things will become official in no time at all. If you bet on that possibility, you're in luck! Ubisoft have confirmed the latest entry in their stabbing simulator will be at the event.
Typically putting out at least one Assassin's Creed title per year, Ubisoft decided to dodge 2016 to spend another year working on the newest entry in the face of yearly release schedules affecting overall quality.
Unless you disregard the come-and-go nature of the movie adaption starring Michael Fassbender within that year, Ubisoft stuck to their promise. Rumors relating to the next Assassin's Creed title have swirled for many months now, but they've becoming undeniably more consistent in recent weeks. Alleged in-game screenshots have leaked, setting details and, more recently, a shirt that managed to all but confirm some of these rumors seem to have laid the foundation - confirmed that Assassin's Creed: Origins is the latest - or earliest - chapter.

After a longer than average development, fans were likely expecting Ubisoft to put out the next numbered entry in the franchise - but that now certainly doesn't appear to be the case. Rather than focusing on the progressing future of the titular Creed leaving sub-titled releases to add a little more depth to the events of other time periods, we're getting a good ol' fashioned origin story this time around. One we're surprised to have gone without for so long.
What do we know already? The year, most likely. The setting will be Egypt and you'll be riding a boat again through crocodile infested waters from time to time. Exciting? It would have been if Aisha Tyler had been confirmed to present the show again. Judging from the video, she won't be there. "But we love you still, Aisha."
