You waited 8 years for Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III to finally surface. After succeeding the massively popular first entry in the series with a bunch of DLC before issuing a similarly-situated sequel in 2009, nobody knew it would take quite so long for the duet to become a trilogy.
Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War III Is Considered By Michael To Be A Grand Return To War
But now that it's out there, of course questions start to arise as to whether Relic Entertainment will push the third entry in the series to the same heights of longevity shared by its older siblings. We likely won't know for some time yet, but fans can keep guessing. These days, it's fan feedback ultimately determines what route developers take, anyway. We're all becoming more vocal through the Social Media channels. And what better way to sell additional content than by making what the fans say they'll buy?
If we're not to know what's coming for a little while yet, we can at least outline what we hope to see in the future. There's no point sitting idly by when we can outline our wishes for the future and proclaim "I knew it!" when (or if) those dreams become reality. Let's hear em'.
Chaos Daemons
It's hard to argue with such a simple and compelling name. Games, movies and ancient folklore have used the term 'Chaos' as a catch-all for something that never means a good time for those caught up in it. For a player of the Chaos race, however, you'd be judge, jury and executioner of those bad times.
We'd focus on the Daemons of Chaos for the most part - to avoid any striking similarities to the more human and/or beast forms of currently available units. Built of pure energy, we can image these beings having a strong precense on the battlefield. Of course, current in-game lore would have to support their introduction through the Warp Gates, but that's more reason to hope for more single-player missions if or when they do arrive.
Necrons
How can you say no to robotic skeletons emerging from their coffins after 60 million years with massive guns already by their side? A relatively fresh addition to the Warhammer universe, they're disgusting enough to almost turn the franchise into that of a space-based survival horror game. It's like DOOM when these guys are around.
Fuelled by a rightfully undying wish to restore the dynasties of which they come from millions of years ago, the constant fueds breaking out within the Warhammer universe has them ready and willing to mop things up. Though billions didn't stand the test of time and strife, billions more did - and they're angry. Their immortality across the milleniums brings great patience. One defeat means nothing for them in the long-term grand scheme of things.
Minor Factions (coming soon)
We have no real idea of how Relic Entertainment plans to push Dawn of War III to greater success over the coming months and years. Both previous games in the series saw copious amounts of extra post-release content trickle out for a long while. We all have our dreams, but until the developers decide to dish out the details, we won't know the of the game's long-term plans or whether we've already seen everything there is to see.
Patches do appear, however, so we know they're not quite done just yet. We'll obvioulsy update as we do hear more, but this is what we're hoping for right now. Any specific races you'd like to see added in due time? Let us know down below.
