While we haven't heard much on the subject of DLC for Sega's Sonic Mania throwback title, post-launch content is hardly going anywhere. It's embedded into the gaming culture at this point. Sonic Forces, however, is already confirmed to get some with 'Shadow Story' - but fans are trying to work out what else will come.
Digging through the Japanese Sonic Forces DLC page, Reddit user Hifihedgehog mentions that "Unfortunately, they are wise to the methods we have used in the past for getting future site reveals.", explaining that their usual methods of leaking information through Sega's web design is a thing of the past.
Their current idea is merely speculation and common sense at this point, raising the question of why Sega would bother to have a dedicated DLC page with only one item. If the URL in question was named for the Shadow Story add-on they'd likely let it go. But the page hosting the current Shadow Story gameplay reveal is simply called 'DLC' and has plenty of room for new announcements.

Set to launch next month, there isn't too much time for Sega to potentially bolster the dwindling hype of the project by announcing their full DLC plans. With so many characters showing up in Sonic Forces, fans are spoiled for choice when it comes to wishing for more 'Story' packs. Blaze, Silver, and even simply Tails are all common requests that Sega would be wise not to ignore.
There's hardly an in-depth snooping around going on here, but there's every hope Sega isn't going to go quiet with this game right after launch. With the Shadow Story DLC set to release the same day, players are clinging to the hope that they'll be able to control their favourite characters once more.
