Crania Games are a small development house that’s located in Istanbul, Turkey, and its first title is an action adventure survival horror game called Roots of Insanity, which is releasing on Steam today.
Roots of Insanity sees you taking control of the main protagonist Riley McClein, a doctor who unfortunately suffers from epileptic attacks, which probably isn’t going to be very helpful when you’re trying to survive in a gore infested zombie ridden hospital named August Valentine.
From the gameplay footage that we saw in the Launch Trailer, it looks like Roots of Insanity takes a lot of its influence from Red Barrels’ Outlast, which happens to be getting a sequel on the 25th April, so Roots of Insanity might keep you busy if you’re looking for a horror game to tide you over until then. But then, there’s always Resident Evil 7 if you haven’t played it yet?
Here’s what Crania Games say about the game:
What had started as an ordinary night shift at the August Valentine Hospital has turned into a night of chaos and horror for you. As Dr. Riley McClein, you have to figure out what is real and what is not as you try to uncover the mysterious happenings at the hospital, while also trying to deal with your epileptic attacks that have haunted you all your life. You will need to whatever you can to survive the night and most importantly, keep your sanity.
Roots of Insanity is an fps/tps, survival/horror game designed and developed in Unreal Engine by Crania Games. The game tells the tale of Dr. Riley McClein as he tries to survive through a maelstrom of horror and mystery in the August Valentine Hospital, while also struggling with his epileptic attacks.</b></i>
