We've been quietly mentioning Production Line since well before Christmas. Being a one-man game dev army, Cliff Harris of PositechGames has been putting out regular 'dev diary' style videos to demonstrate how his new car factory tycoon sim has been progressing. And it seems to have been going well. Well enough to head into Early Access in around 2 weeks.
Now scheduled for an Early Access release on May 18, Production Line must be in a welcoming state. Having managed over 9,000 (Cliff, no...) pre-orders or alpha access purchases, he's confident this is the right step forward.
Excited by the mere prospect of embedding Steam widgets into his homepage, the guy injects a lot of his personality into a blog post that comes across as one filled with both elation and disdain for the future. It's one part looking forward to the work and eagerlu anticpating a slew of scammers and wannabe YouTube starts appraoching him for keys. A little respect goes a long way.

Talking more about the business side of things, Cliff's latest blog post doesn't really do much to outline how the game will change between its current Alpha phase to official Steam Early Access - other than the price, at least. Raising from $13.00 to $15.99 once it releases on Steam, you can still lock-in at the cheaper price if you hurry yourself up. There is a new car for good measure, though.
For finer details, it might be worth reading through Cliff's backdated blog posts or setting up a playlist of his demonstration videos.
