With CI Games just last week admitting that they pushed for a bit too much with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, it seems there other title - Lords of the Fallen 2 - could be recovering from a similar issue.
Despite admitting that they were 'too ambitious' with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, CI Games promised to continue working on both Lords of the Fallen 2 and a currently unknown third-person shooter.
But they never said they'd continue working under the exact same conditions as before, as it seems they've had to scale back on Lords of the Fallen 2 in a case that could have echoed their last attempted AAA flop. Downsizing the team that's worked tirelessly on Lords of the Fallen 2 since its announcement back in 2014, a number of developers have been given the axe.
Admitting They Were Too Ambitious With Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, CI Games Look To The Future
Now former employee Tomasz Gop spoke to Eurogamer recently saying "I was let go because of a reduction in team, in scope, in budget, in business approach. Almost two years I've been working on the sequel and I have not seen it leave the concept/vision stage. I was working on something I was really 100 per cent into and we were not producing the game."
CI Games told of their plans to cease attempting to take on the AAA blockbuster space. Instead, they'll focus on maintaining quality on a feasible scale.
