Original Story:
Creative Assembly have revealed The Laboratory, a free DLC update for Total War: Warhammer II that allows players to wildly alter the game's settings and fight battles with "unpredictable gameplay". It'll be out on December 14 for everyone and we have the full details below, along with a trailer.
Creative Assembly explains why Total War: Warhammer II's Mortal Empires DLC is a buggy mess
Here's where Total War: Warhammer 3 will be set and what races we can expect
You can watch the trailer for The Laboratory here or embedded below, and it'll give you some idea what to expect. The free DLC will add a new option to Total War: Warhammer 2's menu, which takes players to a screen where they can wildly mod the game's settings and create some truly insane design parameters. And then play battles with these unpredictable settings.
Examples including increasing the size of units, turning off gravity so units just float upwards, turning damage up, making explosions 5x bigger or spells 5x more devastating, or just creating an army with 100 Doomwheels. "How many Doomwheels? NEVER ENOUGH DOOMWHEELS!" as the Skaven narrator yells.
The Laboratory will be available for all owners of Total War: Warhammer II on December 14, but Creative Assembly advises that "Any PC can attempt to use Laboratory mode, but your performance will vary wildly. It will also result in unpredictable gameplay... but that's the point." Indeed. We can't wait to try it.
It should be noted that this appears to be some sort of sponsorship detail with Intel so it may make your AMD processor explode. Just warning you.
