If you were hoping for double the Star-Lord and double the Groot this year, you're not wrong - but you're not right, either.
With a few more screenshots of Telltale's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' entry surfacing just before PAX East, it was inevitable that the masters of episodic storytelling - within videogame, at least - were planning something a little more robust.
The speculation rang true and Telltale revealed some new key information and some additional screenshots during PAX East making special mention of ensuring nobody gets their hopes up when it comes to Hollywood stars being onboard with the project. They're not going to be there.
Non of the characters within the video game will be voiced by their movie counterparts - but you will be hearing Nolan North yet again. As Rocket Raccoon, no less. Taking the lead as Star-Lord is Scott Porter while Groot's complicated speech patterns will be performed by Adam Harrington with Emily O'Brien and Brandon Paul Eells taking on the roles of Gamora and Drax respectively.
Further begging the question of how the comic book version works without the beat of a classic mixtape, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will feature an iconic beat as we travel “from Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond” and discover yet another powerful artifact.
It's due out in the Spring, but apparent leaks suggest an appearance next month.
