With Hugh Jackman formally announcing an end to his time as the face of Marvel's Wolverine, it's time to start looking into who'll step into his large boots.
After some careful sleuthing and ample guesswork, TheBitBag have begun to suggest that Elias Toufexis could be the most likely candidate - at least for the video game roles, anyway.
It's no secret that Marvel and Square Enix are working closely on an upcoming Avengers game. They revealed the collaboration just last month and made a pretty big deal about it. Though we're unlikely to hear much of those plans until next year, there's no saying it's the only thing the group is working on with their new-found partner - with Toufexis' instagram setting off all the alarms for those digging for information.
Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics And Square Enix Team Up With Marvel For An Avengers Project
Being best known as the voice of Adam Jensen in the recent Deus Ex revival games from Eidos Montreal, a few photos cropping up on Instagram seem to show the man offering up his body to the fine art of motion capture while holding a contraption that looks strikingly similar to a set of claws - Wolverine's signature style. Having pulled off the gruff voice of Adam Jensen and already being well-known to Eidos and, in turn, Square Enix, it's not a connection dragged out of thin air.
According to Jason Schreier over at Kotaku, Eidos are working on another Marvel game beyond the current Avengers project. There's also a new Marvel vs Capcom game due should this all tie up neatly together. Maybe Toufexis has landed a pretty huge role in voicing the raging mutant in a number of projects. All we can do is wait and see.
