Bethesda evidently never want to stop with their brand of first-person action games. With Skyrim getting countless re-releases and DOOM making a re-appearance, they're still looking at sequels for games they've revived in the past. The next? Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Originally teased during last year's Bethesda showcase, The New Colossus has been officially named as a direct sequel to 2014's surprise hit - Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Making an unsurprising debut during last night's E3 stream, Bethesda demonstrated a lengthy trailer that mixed old and new together to create something rather staggering. With the 5-minute trailer showing what appears to be a light montage of old television shows with a 'new world order' twist, the shell begins to crumble as we learn of what's happening in the this consistent recreation of World War II.
William "B.J." Blazkowicz awakens in a hospital before a pregnant Anya who holds his injured head against to her twin-bearing belly. Of course, it's a bitter-sweet moment. Before long, we're thrown back into the bloodbath as we learn of how far the Nazi regime has stretched through the world. Threatening the American livelihood now more than ever, B.J sets out to reinvigorate the fighting spirit of the common man in the hopes of starting a revolution against the Nazi's firm grasp against American free culture.
Just as bloody as the last, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus features what we've come to expect from the last - big guns. Big guns mean big damage. And we'll be blasting our way to a brighter future come October 27.
