We could talk for hours about what Enlightenment truly is, but we wouldn't really get anywhere. It feels like a philosophical concept or something straight from the scriptures. Either way, Moonfall is a game void of it completely. That's the point.
Taken straight from the game's website, Moonfall is a hand-painted side-scrolling 2D action RPG beat'em up set in a dark industrial Gothic world where the age of Enlightenment never came.
Essentially boiled down to a dark, dreary melee action title, Moonfall was successfully greenlit on Steam and has now officially released onto the platform with a logo that actually looks similar to the service that allowed it to make the plunge in the first place.
Meet Your Party In This New Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Character Showcase
You'll be taking on the role of what's known as an Elemental Engineer - the self-proclaimed Children of Nature. Apparently appearing out of the ground from the very dirt below, these warriors wield melee weapons and certain magical abilities to defeat their would-be attackers in a number of ways while swiftly dodging and parrying those who get a little too close.
There's a trailer down below which pulls off any number of fancy melee combat feats. It's very much a battle of twitch reactions and quick thinking. Grab it through Steam, if you wish.
