In what we can imagine is an effort to harvest the Destiny 2 hype PC players are holding while their console friends shoot away at the Cabal, Ubisoft have set up another free weekend for their own loot-heavy multiplayer shooter - The Division.
The free weekend won't grant you indefinite access to The Division if you don't already own it, but it will give you around 4 days to see if Ubisoft's work over the last year paid off.
The Division was seen as Ubisoft's attempt to take a piece of the Destiny pie at its release last year. Although it managed to fill the void with impressive sales numbers early on, the title's popularity quickly tapered off due to myriad launch issues like rampant cheating, imbalance and a lack of rewarding end-game content.

Over the last year, however, Ubisoft have plugged most of the holes with semi-consistent updates, usually followed by free weekends in an attempt to regrow its lost player base. Those who remained usually make the case for a game that's doing much better now, but the latest free weekend is up for you to decide.
If you're hoping to play the game's latest 'Survival' expansion, you're probably going to have to work for it. From now until September 17 at around 9PM UK time, you can download and play The Division all you like through both Steam and Uplay.
