Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada is well on its way right now, and KOEI TECMO are starting to push out some of its finer details - like the large-scale Castle Town and its regular goings on.
With launch on the horizon and set for around 2 months time, it's time to delve into what makes the expansive new Castle Town feature worth exploring. There might be time for a new character, too.
Castle Town, as a whole, will act as a hub to gain new information, rest up, accept the troubles of the townspeople as your own or to just listen in on their daily lives. When you're not out cutting up the bad guys, it might be nice to hear the stories of those who aren't out their risking their stomach being pierced by another man. Growing larger and livelier over the course of the game, Castle Town will offer weapon upgrades through the Blacksmith, a place to house your horses or simply a teahouse to socialising with the town's officers. You'll even find a few mini-games capable of offering what the battlefield never could. So long as you enjoy a bit of hoeing, that is.
Focusing mostly on the legacy of the Sanada clan - as per the game's name - that doesn't mean it's all on their lineage to carry the story forward. We'll see a few appearances from those of the Oda clan with Chacha - a focused girl with a strange connection to the old family. You, on the other hand, control Masayuki Sanada until it's time to shift over to his off-spring ith Yukimura and his brother Nobuyuki.
The new trailer down below shows off the bustling Castle Town and demonstrates some of the early interactions between the younger characters of the game as they age through the years. Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada release May 26.
