Having gone through some very rough patches of development as as Windows 10 Store exclusive, we can imagine Gigantic struggled to pull in beta test participants until it was allowed to release onto Steam. With the Team-based shooter/MOBA hybrid now out in the open, Motiga are promising a new Hero character every week. This time, it's Oru's turn.
The chunky looking genie fortune teller hurls cards at his enemies and triggers his various card's effects by 'revealing' which have been jammed into his opponents.
While certainly skilled at long-range combo-focused DPS, Oru can be developed into a cunning strategic disruptor mid-game by way of the Gigantic's ranging skill trees. His regular attack - Judgement - inflicts a debuff of the same name, damaging the target over time. From there, he's capable of adding the 'Quick to Judge' cooldown reduction trait, or 'Judge and Jury', inflicting extra damage on each Judgement attack should the target already be inflicted by its debuff.

Then there's 'The Beast'. This skill tosses 3 cards outward, damaging targets and slowing those hit. Trait-wise, Oru is able to increase the amount of cards thrown, covering more territory and potentially racking up more damage. For those looking for some survivability or insta-kill tactics, you can instead decide to take 'Close to the Chest', knocking back nearby targets, potentially to their doom. Similarly, there's 'The Joker'. These are three cards placed at Oru's feet that, when stepped on, launch and damage targets. The 'High Card' trait increases the knockback, while 'The Long Game' increases the rage at which 'The Joker' can be placed.
Chain these cards together with 'Cosmic Power' for devastating plays. Enemies caught in its large circular AOE will be damaged and have additional effects triggered depending on which cards have already been placed on them - meaning more damage to Judgement inflicted targets, and Daze for those with 'The Beast'. Take 'Shattered Destiny' for more damage to Judgement-inflicted targets, or 'Starstruck' to stun those hit with The Beast.
Then there's Oru's ultimate 'Focus' skill - Death Dealer. This flurry of 'Death' cards hits with pin-point accuracy, inflicting rapid damage to the target before revealing the cards for another quick burst at the end. If the target it at 50% when the cards are revealed, they'll take a very big hit to their health, usually enough to kill a target outright. Chain this together with a revealed Judgement and Beast for a stunned target open for some serious hurt.
Oru arrives as a playable hero in the free-to-play Gigantic later today.
