Requested and often shot down, Riot Games have finally added a practice arena for their mega-popular MOBA title - League of Legends.
Though a similar feature has been seen in both the official League of Legends tip videos and third-party skin spotlight videos, the company has rejected ideas of making the testing tool available for public use for years.
Now in public beta through the test servers, players can enter themselves into a single-player proving ground to test out new characters, item combinations, skill chains and jungle routes without fear of being flamed by their allies and being reported for not living up to the expectations of the game’s demanding playerbase.
League of Legends Made PC Gaming The Second Strongest Market Of 2016
Though it isn’t to be used for trying out new champion skins before purchase, the practice tool is there to help players try new things without jeopardising the experience of those looking for a genuine win. Modifiers can increase your gold income, regen amounts, spawn enemies and reduce cooldown times to help newer players more easily come to terms with what works and what doesn’t.
Likely troubled by the thought of players gaining their first impressions through a quiet single-player scenario, Riot Games seemed to hope players would just learn as they play. But with League of Legends offering an ever-growing eSports scene, it certainly needed a way to keep players practising their craft.
