The guys behind Brink team up with renowned World of Tanks publisher, lending their industry-wide multiplayer experience with one of the scene's leading groups.
Splash Damage made a name for themselves as a mod team before getting their big break with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Then being ushered into making maps for Doom 3, they were confided upon yet again to aid in the development of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars before Bethesda granted them free reign over their own team-based multiplayer IP - Brink.
Then established as a AAA developer, Splash Damage continued to be called in to work on multiplayer aspects of various games ranging from Gears of War to Rocksteady's Arhkam series. Now, they're being called upon again; but by the team known for their massive free-to-play strategy/actions games.
"The Wargaming universe gives our team a great creative canvas, allowing us to develop a game experience for a massive, loyal following, and we’re extremely excited to get started.”, said Paul Wedgewood, CEO of Splash Damage on the collaboration.
Wargaming's own Victor Kislyi said "What impresses me most about Splash Damage is their passion for every project they take on. They’re working incredibly hard to create truly memorable games, won’t stop until everything runs like clockwork, and share in our values of player-focused game design, which makes them just the right partner for Wargaming.”
We likely won't know the exact reason they've been drafted in for a little while yet, but it sounds promising already. Any ideas?
