A simple soft, unformatted info dump has the Sonic fandom all riled up today. With one of this year's two major Sonic the Hedgehog titles already released, attention is quickly shifting back to the second - Sonic Forces. And if you ever called it Sonic Generations 2 (as most did), you were apparently right on the money. It just saw a name change. Take that, Sonic Heroes!
The latest line of leaks hints at both story and gameplay details, including who's fighting for who, a few extra mission ideas, and a spot of drama. Compiled by 'Burst the Hedgehog' on the Sonic Amino page, the leak itself seems to step from the SonicStadium forum. Though an exact link seems hard to find.
Kicking things off, the alleged leaker suggests someone will die during Sonic Forces - but it won't be Tails, as many have been expecting. Though, to keep things interesting, they still suggest 'something' will happen to our two-tailed cutie. Reaffirming the idea that we've seen the game's main antagonist 'Infinite' before, we're being told it isn't who most have thought it to be. One of the less common, but most intriguing, theories so far suggests Infinite is the fixed body of Tails from the Game Gear Sonic the Hedgehog games. The idea is that the poor guy died in the portable version of Sonic 2. Neat!

Less exciting, or less speculation-inducing ideas at least, suggest there's a major plot twist with Infinite - reaffirming those ideas yet again - Tails, Knuckles, Amy and 'Avatar' having meaningful character development with Sonic, a slight reference to 'Boom' Sonic but no other spin-off mentions, Silver running off to fix his future (with playable missions involving this), another Classic Era character returning as a hero, an easter egg within the character creator, heavy emphasis on Wisps throughout the story, a 'feel-good' story, and a hint of more playable characters being a possibility.
As for Shadow deciding to side with the bad guys this time around, it's said the fanbase mostly has this theory down already. As for Chaos and Zavok, you can now throw them into a similar boat. Now let's just hope that Infinite theory is canon. Dead Tails? That's some creepypasta level excitement people can get behind.
