Honestly, it should come as no surprise now. Though Microsoft have been hard at work supporting their own Xbox Play Anywhere initiative over the last year, they've kicked off 2017 with the addition of a certain upcoming third-party game - Resident Evil 7.
Joining the ranks of Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3, Capcom's super secretive horror title will be one of the first third-party entries in the Play Anywhere program.
But what does that mean? We'll tell you what it means! It's a program that aims to reward the most loyal fan of the Redmond giant. Should you own - and play - both a decently specced PC and an Xbox One console, buying certain titles digitally nets you access to both. So say you just bought Gears of War 4 through the Windows 10 store. It's tied to your account. Fire up the office PC or the living room Xbox and you're good to go. Save and all.
The Scariest Part Of Resident Evil 7 Could Be The Mystery Of Your Missing Head
And that's about all you need to know. We're a little dark about the game ourselves, too. Capcom's marketing means we all are - purposely. But this part can't be a secret forever. If you buy it on one (digitally), you own it on both. And if the interjection of the Xbox Twitter account on Phil Spencer's announcement post is anything to go by, we'll be seeing many additions to the Xbox Play Anywhere program this year.
Resident Evil 7 launches January 23 - that's just 4 days away. Nobody really knows much about the game, but there's plenty of brief video footage to get you questioning it even more.
