It may not look exactly how you remember the movie, but Reservoir Dogs is gearing up for a video game adaption with a shockingly close May 18 launch date.
Announced last month at both GDC and PAX East, a date has already been set for the Dogs to make their return. Sure, it's not the movie sequel fans of the cult-classic Tarantino flick are likely hoping for in these days of Hollywood remakes and surprise continuations - but it's something.
Penned as Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days, the game takes the form a top-down strategic shooter with plenty of - you guessed it - blood. Donning their signature attire and robbing banks like the good old days, the only real difference here is how the crew can pop off a foe, zip back in time and do it again. Think the flashback sequences mixed with the Time Rewind of Tracer in Overwatch and you're got yourself a new pseudo-superpower.
Stoic Plans To Work On A New IP Before Revisiting The Banner Saga World
The idea behind the Time Rewind feature lies in how you control your squad in the heat of the moment. Pick the man best for the job at hand and shoot whoever is in his way before zipping back a few seconds and trailing it with the next member. It's a game of strategic forward thinking - bank heists aren't easy - so being able to use trial and error to choose the best course of action is part of the process.
All six 'dogs' return for a single-player campaign taking place across 18 different levels. Banks aren't the only target, however, with clubs, docks and more being ample targets. Check out the new cinematic trailer down below then head over to Steam for the details.
