The folks behind survival horror title 'Syndrome' are hard at work on something new. Something that fixes the issues of their last game while branching out into a genre that's not quite to overpopulated.
Explaining their future plans through a blogpost, Bruno Cesteiro of Camel 101 touched on how they're hoping to fix the mistakes of their last game while hopefully ensuring they're able to keep up the good work.
Syndrome was what it was through a number of playtest sessions and user feedback from exhibitions and game events as opposed to a wider-reach demo, beta session or dedicated testers and focus groups. While some feedback is better than non, the team feels they need more to make a better title.
A 13 Minute Gameplay Trailer For Syndrome Was Released Last September
With their new game - with no name other than 'Project X - being in development for the last 6 months, they're using a single, particularly dark image to point out that it's not the same survival horror idea they spun with Syndrome. Instead, they're working on a dark adventure game with a focus on emotional narrative. And it's in VR! While the upcoming console versions of Syndrome will include a VR component, full VR support was stripped from Syndrome later in development due to issues with rapidly updating versions of the Unity framework used to piece the game together.
"... light and darkness has a major role in the game", says Bruno. But what he doesn't say is when they're expecting this new project to become more apparent to players. The first to see it won't be the paying public, however, but a tech school in Lisbon tasked with testing the title. That's their feedback plan for the future.
