Without even looking at the developer diary in question, it was clear any topic about the creation of a particular character was asking for an old-school reference to Microsoft's ill-fated Kinect.
This isn't a Kinect story, though. Far from it, in fact. Unless someone with the skills to bring Kinect support of Styx: Shards of Darkness, anyway. This is all about Cyanide Studios giving us an up-close and personal look into the creation and upbringing of the titular rogue, Styx. With more depth and skill than the previous Styx title, the group has had to expand upon the goblin's old styles to show off a character mode in-tune with his growing experiences.

Watching Styx sneak in and out of vision while priming a comedic one-liner for the next regular-sized character to meet his gaze, it's a little like seeing a banking teller from Harry Potter mixed with J.R.R Tolkein's Gollum - nimble, snarky and always ready to do his job.
