For some, the announcement of Total War: Warhammer 2 so soon after its original release came as a surprise - for others, it couldn't have gone any other way. Predictions were mostly correct, but the rate at which we're seeing the focus switch from one game to another could never have been anticipated.
Going forward, it's all hands on deck for Total War: Warhammer 2. There's likely only a few team members left keeping Total War: Warhammer alive right now, with the rest hard at work on the sequel. With the intro video already available, it's time for the team to start explaining what it's all about.
If you've watched the reveal video you likely saw the leader of the High Elves performing a ritual before their men were ambushed by the Dark Elves. That shining rock is the focus of the first insight video. Known only as the Great Vortex, it's a power that has swirled above Ulthuan for thousands of years. Constantly resulting in a fierce end-game, the aim seems to be for each race to 'save' or 'disrupt' its power with their clan's motivations through a series of rituals.
Total War: Warhammer 2 Trailer Reveals Dark Elves, High Elves, Beastmen And Skaven Races
For those relatively unknown to the forces at hand in Total War: Warhammer 2, most of the speculation was correct. We're headed into Ulthuan where the High Elves, Dark Elves and Lizardmen frequently collide. We've seen them enact war against each other through the debut trailer - but the Skaven are certainly getting ready to make their grand return. For more info on those, check out our constantly updated Race page here.
Total War; Warhammer 2 releases some time later this year. Expect a slew of post-game DLC, too. If you want some minor updates, check out the Bastiladon concept art here.
