While many may remember Judge Dredd from either the 90s Stallone film or the eye-popping 3D remake from back in 2012, the character has a long history of being part of the 2000AD comic universe - today handled by Sniper Elite publishers Rebellion.
Other than that, he's a character that's considered niche with the current saturated market of DC and Marvel competition. Putting our a call to license their characters to other groups earlier this year, Rebellion are hoping to bring their wares under the spotlight.
With Rogue Tropper Redux on the way - with a number of other 2000AD projects teased - the big question still remains - What about Judge Dredd? According to PCGamesN, Rebellion's CEO Jason Kingsley says they're looking into having him star in his own video game, but "a couple of years is the sweet spot, perhaps, for making a computer game".

Basically, it's still early days And there's no guarantee his words of encouragement will lead to bruising video game revival of the fan-favourite executioner. But with the hope of a movie sequel being swapped out for a newly confirmed TV series handled by the makers of the 2012 sleeper hit, Rebellion are certainly trying their hardest to give the Judge his due diligence.
