If you happen to live by the city, you've likely come across a homeless person or two in your time. Some passerby instinctively dislike them, while others are less quick to judge. People feed them, talk to them, humor them or just otherwise ignore them. In Hobo: Tough Life, you are one of them.
Adding to a long list of survival sims, Hobo: Tough Life is one of the only renditions of the genre with a noteworthy premise. Rather than just waking up naked in the middle of nowhere, you're still part of society with this one - though the public may have conflicting feelings on that.
One of the bigger issues when it comes to the homeless is a matter of principle and prejudice. Most would assume anyone in that situation only has themselves to blame; but that isn't strictly true. Hobo: Tough Life would have you project your own morale code onto the situation that could actually be somewhat of an eye-opener in the end. Do you sit there quietly hoping for a handout, or actively beg people on the streets and rummage through trash cans hoping for a moldy bite to eat?

And how would you deal with the abuse you're bound to take by being an eyesore on the streets? A public nuisance or something to be brushed under the rug. Hide away from it, or fight back with your bare fists? Do you drink to ease your sorrows or spend your time being productive, looking for food or getting ready for a cold winter? Do you go it alone, or seek shelter with a friend? Pickpocket the public, or stay out of their way? These are all questions you likely haven't had to ask yourself; but they're ones you'll have to come to terms with if you're to survive on the streets.
Hobo: Tough Life is set to hit Steam Early Access in just a few short hours. With the abundance of survival sims already on the market, it there space for one with a little more meaning?
