It's been a number of years since we strayed into Mordor to do battle against its many-faced Orc, but the very same beasts we culled back in 2014 could be the brunt behind our new army later this year.
While we waited anxiously for IGN France to spill the beans on the long-awaited Shadow of Mordor sequel following their tease early this month, Target may have just rained on their parade after listing the proposed second-coming of Middle Earth on one of their store pages.
Dodging the cliche use of the number 2, if Target's listing is to be believed - and why wouldn't it, really? - then we can expect the sequel to one of 2014's breakout action hits to be named Middle Earth: Shadow of War.
IGN France And WB Games Are Planning Something For March 8 - Twitter Wants Shadow Of Mordor 2
After all the Orc slaying in the first title, the game's listed synopsis seems to suggest that we'll be playing as a familiar face while taking control of the beasts we spent weeks butchering through the original game's Nemesis system; one many expected to be re-purposed in all but a sequel - it never happened.
The listing itself was slotting the title in for a tentative August 2017 release, meaning we shouldn't be too far from hearing more on this one. Rather than expecting the big reveal for the E3, chances are even greater that IGN's original reveal was, in fact, for this as expected. They're planning something for March 8.
