Creative Assembly are getting down and dirty lately. Pouring all their efforts into a new historically accurate Total War game, Total War: Arena and Total War: Warhammer to name a few. They've just announced their next - Total War: Warhammer 2.
The countdown was right, as were most watching it tick down. The backdrop of Sega and Creative Assembly's tease was in-fact Lustria - the homeland of the Lizardmen Empire.
Commonly found fueding over the nearby lands of Ulthuan and Naggaroth, we're about to bare witness to some of the more mystical battles of the Warhammer franchise. Speculation was already rife that Total War: Warhammer 2 would prominently feature these fabled lasts and their people - and the fans were not wrong. We've got Carnosaur, High Elf shield walls and a floating, bloated lizard. What's not to like?
Culminating at the end of the countdown featured on the Total War webpage, a 3 minute trailer introduces us to the races and factions we were told to expect through the smart observational abilities of the Warhammer community. The Dark Elves, High Elves and Lizardmen are all present - with a clip at the end obviously teasing the Skaven to make an appearance during the war that's about to unfold.
With the original Total War: Warhammer only having gone live early last year, it's still somewhat surprising to see Total War: Warhammer 2 planning a 2017 launch. It's happening, though. And we'll likely be getting more and more content drops until that release date become sa little less vague.
