We're all familiar with Dennis Brännvall at this point, the DICE developer who consistently updates fans when the rest of the team remains regrettably silent.
On a recent forum post, the Design Director confirmed that both Clone Wars content and customisation options are coming to Battlefront II, while clarifying Conquest mode was under consideration.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Progression Changes Are On The Way
"We're obviously hearing the requests about a more open, free-flowing large mode like Conquest", Brännvall said. "Not sure if porting a mode over is the right way to go, but we're definitely working on satisfying that request."
Somewhere else, he expanded on that: "We're obviously hearing the request for a more free-flowing, open-sandbox large game mode and we're prototyping something of that nature for a future release (hopefully). I'm not sure if porting over a ruleset completely is the way to go yet (there were reasons why we decided not to do that previously) but as soon as I know for sure, I'll let you know."
Regarding Clone Wars content" and "any news on more customization", Brännvall simply replied with "Yes" and "Yes".
In a delightful nerdy manner, he then followed up with "You're exactly the kind of men I need in the 501st", a quote from Captain Rex from the Clone Wars series. As the player who asked the question used the #CaptRexInBFII hashtag, don't take that as anything more than a fan reference.
